Paitings by Georges de Groot: Explosion of Shapes, Depths and Colors

In Georges de Groot's works of art, an innocent soul and a striking way to deal with shading and surface are consolidated. Working in acrylics on canvas, he makes a world in which unusual characters are set in clear theoretical settings. Going for what he calls "a differentiating blast of shapes, profundities and hues," de Groot utilizes his dynamic brushwork to solid impact, giving each shading and figure a dynamic, key nearness. Hues cover in unpleasant blends that bring montage or road workmanship to mind, yet there is dependably an innate adjust and congruity that uncover the craftsman's finely tuned visual sense.

The intense lines in his arrangements give them a notorious profundity that stands out from what at first gives off an impression of being their carefree nature. "My motivations originate from my background," he says, "things like adolescence stories, the beasts and pixies that occupied the books I read and the extreme circumstances of my life." Those motivations are reflected in the collaboration of temperaments and tones in his works, bringing about a mind boggling knowledge for the watcher. The craftsman lives and works in the Netherlands.
